Teresa K. Newkirk

Teresa Kristine Newkirk (Reimer) passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born in Emporia, Kansas, on September 9, 1951, to Clarence Martin Reimer and LaVada (Thomsen) Reimer.

Teresa graduated from Hartford High School and took voice lessons at Emporia State University. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared her talent as part of the Messiah Lutheran Church choir, often performing solos for weddings and special occasions. She was also gifted in gardening and floral arrangements, and her penmanship was known and admired by many.

Teresa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Clarence and LaVada Reimer, and her twin brother, Dennis Martin Reimer.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Davies) Kuhnle and husband, Brian, of Charlotte, North Carolina; her son, Eric Martin of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michael Good of Maryland, Kyle Buffkin and wife, Melinda, of Hickory, North Carolina, Brenton Kuhnle of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Kaitlin Kuhnle of Charlotte, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Alikai and Hawk Buffkin of Hickory, North Carolina; and many cousins, relatives, and good friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 107 North Sixth St., Lebo, Kansas 66856. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service immediately following at the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, Kansas.

Teresa had a lifelong love of flowers and nature. In honor of her memory, memorial donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
