Shane D. Post, 52, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
His life began on October 9, 1973, in Topeka, Kansas. He attended Lebo High School and graduated with the Class of 1992. Shane attended Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia and pursued a career as an electrician.
Shane earned his Journeyman Certification and worked out of I.B.E.W. #226 in Topeka. His career took him throughout the United States and spanned the past 20 years. In March of this year, Shane had to stop working due to his health. Although he was unable to work, his days were filled with the thoughts of his Union Brothers and the years they spent keeping the world out of the dark. He always tried to approach life from the “Lighter Side” and was a” Shining” example of courage and strength for anyone that had the privilege of being in his life.
Shane lived life with passion. He cherished his family and friends and the simple pleasures of life. He found peace in everything from hitting the road on his Harley or sitting by a pond or lake fishing and just taking it all in. He was a big man with a Giant heart. He stood firm in his beliefs while remaining open to the cares and concerns of others. He was a light bulb for many, offering anything he could to help. He at times seemed mature beyond his years while not letting go of his youth and desire to be a kid at heart.
Shane was a devoted son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and a friend to countless others. He will live on in the hearts and treasured memories of parents, Jan and Leon Zink of Lebo; his wife, Alicia Turner of their home in Hartford, Kansas; step daughter, Morgan Pohl and Duke Beyer of Emporia; step son, Damien Pohl of Hartford; granddaughter, Willow Pohl of Hartford; sister, Shannon Gamboa and husband Miguel of Spring Hill, Kansas; brother, Shawn Post of Manhattan, Kansas; nieces, Marly Turner, Kimberly Bedolla and Whitney Bedolla; nephew Tony Bedolla and wife Kaleigh of Olathe, KS; great niece and nephew, Yissel Bedolla and Jacob Bedolla; brother-in-law, Justin Turner and wife Andrea , numerous extended family and an infinite list of friends.
