Roy Lankton

 Roy Lankton, 95, LeRoy, Kansas passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Coffey County Hospital, Burlington, Kansas. He was born December 29, 1928 in the Crotty Community to Elmer and Frances (Miller) Lankton.

 Roy married Helen Henry on April 24, 1955. They were married for 64 years. Their family consisted of two daughters Nancy Beckman and Donna Gaeddart and three sons Richard Lankton, Roger Lankton and David Nolan. 

 Roy worked in the automotive repair business from the 1960’s – 1970’s. He started truck driving in the late 1970’s as well as farming until the 1990’s. Roy returned to LeRoy in 2000 where he became a member of the city council. Roy enjoyed gardening and raising beautiful roses. He was a member of the Masons for 55 years, Order of Eastern Star and the First Christian Church of LeRoy.

 Roy is survived by his children: Nancy, Richard, Roger and David; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and brother Ralph Lankton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen in 2018; daughter Donna Gaeddart; sister Florence Jackson and brothers Allen Lankton and George Lankton.
