Rosalyn Lane, 55, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away at her home on Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 19, 1969, in Herington, Kansas, Rosalyn was the cherished daughter of Jim and Rita (Corcoran) Hay. She graduated from Pratt High School in 1988 and went on to earn an associate degree from Pratt Community College. Rosalyn later attended Emporia State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1996.
On March 7, 1992, Rosalyn married the love of her life, Jay Lane. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Aaron and Cassie Lane, whom she adored.
Rosalyn was employed by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in 2012, where she started as a part-time Administrative Assistant and worked her way up to the position of Management and Program Analyst. During her 13 years there, she developed strong friendships and was a part of a wonderful work family.
Rosalyn had a deep love for music, which she shared with her family. She enjoyed everything from country to rock and roll, including bands like Twenty One Pilots and Tesla. She especially loved live music and frequently traveled across the country with her family to attend concerts.
When not on the road for concerts, Rosalyn found peace and joy in the great outdoors. She loved camping in Colorado and had a special love for Taylor Park. She was an avid hiker and enjoyed four-wheel driving. One of her favorite places to hike was the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, where she felt connected to nature and felt a sense of peace.
Rosalyn will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her deep love for her family, her sense of humor, and her ability to find joy in music and nature.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jay; her son, Aaron Lane; and her daughter, Cassie Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rita Hay.
