Emporia

Robert Lee "Rob" Bourne, 57, of Emporia Kansas, passed away on August 27th, 2026.

Rob was born on May 31, 1969, to Derald Bourne and Juanita McAlexander, Derald sadly passed away before Rob was born. Rob was later blessed with a loving father, his stepfather, Robert McAlexander, who raised Rob as his own son.

Rob grew up in Osage City, KS alongside his two sisters, Ginger Olsen and Angel Miner. Some of his fondest memories were made on the family farm where he and his sisters spent countless days playing outside and enjoying the simple joys of growing up together.

Rob later married Melinda Zerr, together they welcomed two daughters Maci Bourne and Nikki Bourne. Although Rob and Melinda eventually divorced, they remained friends throughout the years. Rob later welcomed another daughter Madyson Bourne of Osage City, KS. He also lovingly stepped into the role of father figure to Maggie Johnson, who was not his biological daughter but whom he loved and cared for as his own.

Rob later married Roxana Zambrano on February 13, 2026. Roxana has three children Brithany Zambrano, Dylan Zambrano, and Baruc Zambrano. Together Rob and Roxana, enjoyed spending time riding around in Rob’s pride and joy, his Ford F-150, making memories along the way.

Rob was the kind of person who could put a smile on your face and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. Family was incredibly important to Rob, and he never left without making sure to give his loved ones a hug. Those hugs were some of the best and they will be deeply missed.

Rob was preceded in death by his fathers, Derald Bourne and Robert McAlexander.

He is survived by his wife Roxana Zombrano Emporia, his mother, Juanita McAlexander Osage City; his sisters, Ginger and Robert Olsen of Osage City, and Angel and Kevin Miner of Osage City, Kansas; his daughters, Maci Towe, Nikki Bourne, Madyson Bourne, and Maggie Johnson;

and his nieces and nephews, Robert and Kylee Olsen, Eric Olsen, Amber and Justin Page, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Rob leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, conversations, and hugs that will never be forgotten. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave to his family and the memories he created with those around him will live on in their hearts.

A celebration of life and graveside service will be held at a later date.
