Raymond Clifford Peterson, Jr.

Raymond C. Peterson, Jr., 87, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Raymond Clifford Peterson, Jr. was born January 27, 1939, in Miller, Kansas, the son of Raymond Clifford and Lavida (Ward) Peterson, Sr. He grew up and lived majority his life in the Miller area. He graduated from Northern Heights High School in 1957. After high school, he served in United States Air Force.

He was joined in marriage to Linda Lee Minor; she preceded him in death. Then later married Roberta Coffman and she also preceded him in death.

Raymond lived most of his life in the Miller area until he moved to Emporia, where he has lived the past several years.

He worked as a farmer and was employed at Hallmark cards until his retirement.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ralph Victor Peterson and a son, Todd.

Raymond will be forever remembered by his daughter, Pennie Garcia of Emporia; three sons, Doug (Cynthia) Peterson of Inman, Kansas, Brian (Alexia) Peterson of Enterprise, Alabama, and Brandon (Melissa) Lindberg of Emporia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at funeral home. Burial will take place at Osage City Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Miller United Methodist Church or Medora Community Bible Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
