Randall James Williams, 61, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 29, 2026. Randy was born November 06, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, to James Williams and Vonda Lee (Edwards) Willer.
Randy was raised in the Northland, graduating from Oak Park High School. He made lifelong friends and was well known in the area for the orange, white-striped Camaro he drove.
Randy moved to Seattle, Washington to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seattle University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, where he also found a lifelong passion for hiking and climbing. After graduation, Randy traveled to Pakistan with a college friend to investigate international trade opportunities.
Upon his return to the States, he worked as Executive Secretary for the International Trade Club of Greater Kansas City. He met and married Amy (Parra), his wife of 24 years. Randy later took a Contract Analyst position with Sprint Long Distance, remaining dedicated to his work through numerous corporate mergers and buyouts over many years.
Randy and Amy had two children, Cole Jacob & Emily Jordan, while living in Olathe, Kansas, ultimately settling in Louisburg, Kansas to raise them. Randy was very involved in Boy Scout Troop 101 with Cole, and he attended every race possible to watch Emily run Cross Country. He and Cole spent hours completely rebuilding a 1995 Corvette, mirroring the father-son tradition Randy had shared with his own dad decades earlier. He took Emily to Colorado, passing on his love of hiking to her. Randy made sure both his children learned the essentials of car repair and household maintenance.
Randy could repair a car, remodel a basement, and discuss deep philosophical issues. He was frequently described as a "Renaissance man" because his background was so remarkably diverse.
He leaves behind his son, Cole, daughter, Emily, and former wife, Amy; mother, Vonda (Tom) Willer; sister, Suzanne (Bret) Buckmaster; uncle, Gary Edwards; and many nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim, and grandparents, Isabel and Harley Love and Jacob O and Hazel Williams.
Visitation for Randy will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish, 815 E. Meyer Boulevard, Kansas City MO 64131; a Funeral Mass will follow immediately at 2:00pm.
