Norma Lou Weltha

Norma Lou Weltha, 92, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Stormont Vail Health Hospital in Topeka.

Norma was born March 22, 1934, in Reading, the youngest daughter of nine children to Mart and Hazel (DeWitt) Weltha. She graduated from Reading High in 1952.

She was a long-time employee of Hallmark Cards at Emporia, Topeka, Osage City and Leavenworth until her retirement on March 31, 1994.

Norma was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church in Emporia. She enjoyed walking, bird watching and loved fishing.

Norma was a loving and devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She helped raise two nephews, Howard Weltha and Bill Lauber.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and two brothers.

Norma will be remembered by her nine nephews, two nieces, and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Westside Baptist Church in Emporia. Family will receive friends an hour before service at the church. Burial will follow service at Reading Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church and sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O.
