Monica Ann Alcorn

September 26, 1956 — May 7, 2026

Monica Ann Alcorn passed away peacefully in Osage City, Kansas on May 7th, 2026. Special thanks is given to the staff at Osage Nursing Center for compassionately caring for her in her final days, and especially Taylor who was gently holding her hand when she took her last breath.

Monica lived a free spirited life and material possessions meant little to her. She loved music and especially enjoyed playing the harmonica and tambourine. Some of her favorite musicians were James Taylor, Rod Stewart, and Gladys Knight and The Pips. The sounds of these artists could be heard playing on the record player in her Colorado home when her 5 children were younger.

During her childhood she lived in Colorado, Canada, and then moved to California where she spent her teen years into womanhood. Monica was a creative and beautiful poet who was able to find joy in life despite the difficulties she endured. She loved the moon and had faith in a loving presence beyond this world.

Monica existed, is remembered, and is held in the heart of compassion and forgiveness with love. We will know she is still there in the waning crescent moon and in the freedom of the butterfly as she passes by. No life is perfect. All life should be acknowledged. May she now be dancing in the light with peace, peace, peace.
