Matthew Mark Hopkins, 63, known as Mark Hopkins, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.
Mark Hopkins was born February 18, 1962, in Burlington, Kansas, the son of Warner Rogers and Lavona Faye (Brown) Hopkins. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1980.
He was united in marriage to Pamela Jo Adkins on November 6, 1982, in Emporia. Together they had to sons, Matthew and Jamison. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2006. He later married Linda Ann Tallman on July 18, 2015, who also preceded him in death on February 20, 2024.
Mark was employed for Coffey County Appraisers Office as a deputy appraiser for 43 years.
He enjoyed fishing and watching his boys and grandkids in their sports and activities.
He was a former storm spotter and had served on the Lebo Park and Recreation board.
Mark will be forever remembered by his two sons, Matt (Amanda) Hopkins and Jamison Hopkins, both of Lebo; significant other, Connie Lawrence of Yates Center; two sisters, Janet Hopkins of Madison and Kathy Hopkins of Kansas City; a brother, Tony (Jan) Hopkins of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Brayden, Brycen, Brylee and Brextyn Hopkins of Lebo and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Susan Hopkins and a niece, Amy Hopkins.
Family will have a Celebration of Life Gathering on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Cremation has taken place and family will hold a private inurnment at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to City of Lebo for the Lebo Park and Recreation and sent in care Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box 43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
