Marilyn Jane Puckett

Marilyn Jane Puckett, 69, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home in Lamont. She was born August 7, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Walter A. and Lois M.   Frazier Kelley. Marilyn was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and attended local schools as a young lady. She was married to Grover Martin McGuire Sr., in 1963. They  moved to Madison, Kansas in 1976. Marilyn and Grover would divorce in 1978. Marilyn worked at the Madison Café  from 1976 until 1989 when she took over  ownership. She would leave the Café in 1991 and  take a job at the Madison Manor and later at Glacier’s Grocery.  Marilyn injured her back in the mid 1990’s and has been unable to work since.  She will live on in the hearts of her husband, Phillip Puckett of their home in Lamont; a daughter, Anna McGuire of Wichita Falls, Texas; a son, Kevin Kelley McGuire of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Thomas of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Vickie Kuhn of Dunnegan, Missouri and Judy Frazier of Independence, Missouri. Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Grover Martin McGuire, Jr., “Marty” and a sister Jerrie Kelley.  Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November  17, 2017 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Cremation will follow services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
