Marguerite Ann Lietz

Marguerite Conlin Lietz, 81, Eskridge, Kansas, passed away on August 26, 2026.

Marguerite was born in Wamego, Kansas, on January 26, 1945, the daughter of Thomas Sr. and Helen Conlin. She grew up on the family farm, where many of her fondest memories were made surrounded by family, nature, and the animals that were such an important part of her life. She attended the Chalk one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Eskridge Rural High School with the class of 1963. She later continued her education at Clark’s School of Business in Topeka.

Marguerite married Gary Lietz on May 15, 1966. Together they had two children, Michael Eric and Betsy.

Maggie worked at a doctor’s office for a number of years and later with The Associated Clubs. Through her work with the Knife & Fork dinner clubs, she had the opportunity to meet many interesting people.

Maggie was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. She loved spending time with her family and was well known for baking their favorite treats. She also enjoyed being outdoors with her many cats and dogs.

Marguerite is survived by her husband, Gary; a brother Thomas (Carol); her children, Eric Lietz (Kelly) and Betsy Lietz Adams (Jason); and her grandchildren, Evan Adams (Katie), Brooke Adams, Brody Lietz, and Barrett Lietz.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Eskridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box #43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
