Margaret Bodine

Margaret Bodine, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, in Overbrook, Kansas.

Margaret was born on May 6, 1938, in Emporia, Kansas. She was the only child of Chester and Nola (Anderson) Peterson.

On April 19, 1959, Margaret married the love of her life, Marvin Bodine, at the United Methodist Church in Osage City. Together they welcomed two sons, Robert (Bob) and Joseph (Joe). Margaret devoted her life to her family. She raised her boys and helped alongside Marvin on the family farm.

In her free time, Margaret enjoyed painting, especially in oils. She also found joy in tending to her flowers and caring for her beloved cats. Margaret especially loved cooking for her family, while the meals may not always have been perfect, they were always made with love. She was an active member of the woman’s circle at the United Methodist Church.

Margaret will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Bob (Deborah) Bodine of Lyndon and Joe Bodine (Dewi Rusli) of Lawrence; her grandsons, Eric Bodine of Topeka, Austin Bodine of Lawrence, and Preston Bodine of Lawrence; along with other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
