Larry Don Truelove, 81, passed away, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.
Larry Don Truelove was born November 17, 1941 in Hartford, Kansas, the son of George Frederick and Mary Viola (Kammerzell) Truelove. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1960.
He was joined in marriage to Velma J. Metzler on November 5, 1961 in Burlington, Kansas. To this union, two sons were born, Gary and Norman.
Larry Don served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1966.
He was a truck driver for many companies, such as, Hostess and Flying J.
Larry Don will be forever remembered by his two sons, Gary (Sandra) Truelove of Hartford and Norman (Kelly) Truelove of Lebo; two brothers, Carl (Mildred) Truelove of Burlington and Earl (Karen) Truelove of Hartford; ten grandchildren, Patrik Truelove, Meribah Zirkle, Kirk Combes, Lori Hayes, Justin Atchison, Zelda Crisler, Chasity Walker, William Truelove, Nova Truelove, and Romeo Truelove and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velma J., nine sisters and five brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at funeral home. Burial to follow service at Hartford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coffey County Cancer Support Group or the Desert Storm Memorial Fund and sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box 43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
