Jack McDaniel, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his home in Madison.
He was born January 16, 1934 in Cove, Arkansas the son of Lake and Marie Givens McDaniel. Jack attended school in Mena, Arkansas before joining the United states Navy on December 7, 1951 at the age of seventeen. He would proudly serve until his honorable discharge on November 16, 1954.
As a young man, Jack would put the electrical training that he received in the U.S. Navy to good use, working as a TV and electrical repairman.
Jack was joined in marriage to Wretha Van Fossen on January 22, 1955 in Kansas City. The young couple would start their lives together in Council Grove before moving to Benton Arkansas. They would move to Killeen, Texas in the late 1960's where Jack would Pastor at the Missionary Baptist Church. He would later Pastor in Florida before returning to Benton and pursuing a career as an industrial electrician with Tommy Smith Electric Company.
He moved to North Zulch, Texas and took employment with Mark III. He bought his home in Madison in 1999 and moved his family there in 2001. To Provide for his family, Jack would continued to work throughout the United States. Jack would eventually retire to Madison in 2013.
Jack will live on in the hearts of his wife, Wretha of their home; daughter, Deann Dittmar of Emporia; son, Doug McDaniel of Mission, Kanas; grandchildren; Amy Heineken, Scott Saunders, Lisa Burton, Kimberly Hinrichs, Joshua McCarthy and Caleb Crocker; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Jack, Gavin, Emma Grace, Olivia, Wyatt, Franklin, Madison, Drew, Deacon, Avarie and Conall. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cloe June McDaniel and brother, Bill Leonard McDaniel.
