Greg Allen McKinney, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Greg was born on November 25, 1960, at Fort Riley, Kansas, the beloved son of John and Dorthea (Watson) McKinney. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1979.
Following graduation, Greg served faithfully for six years in the National Guard. He went on to become top of his class in Helicopter Mechanics. Greg later dedicated more than 20 years to factory maintenance and then worked an additional 20 years for Mac’s Small Engine and Sharpening, where he was known for his skill, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.
On November 20, 1995, Greg married the love of his life, Linda Catt, in Lebo, Kansas. Their marriage was a true partnership built on love, laughter, and dedication. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Shawn and Marsha.
Outside of work, Greg found peace and happiness while he was outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, and he cherished every moment spent in nature. Whether sitting quietly by the water or sharing stories on a hunting trip, Greg made memories that his family and friends will carry with them forever.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Linda McKinney; daughters Shawn Simon and Marsha Grasser; 3 Grandchildren; his mother, Dorthea Watson; sister Diana McMillin; and brother Kevin McKinney. He is preceded in death by his father, John F. McKinney.
