Floyd Lee Atchison passed away on June 4, 2026, at his home in Vassar, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family.

Floyd was born on October 3, 1963, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Owen and Shirley (Fish) Atchison. He earned an associate degree from a vocational school and went on to build a career as a carpenter, working in the construction industry for many years.

When Floyd was not working, he enjoyed spending time outdoors. Whether he was fishing at the lake or walking a trail, he found peace and happiness in nature. Floyd also had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, who held a special place in his heart.

Known for his compassion and friendly nature, Floyd never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting with people and had a wonderful sense of humor. He especially loved teasing his older sister, Penny.

Floyd is survived by His son, Waylon Boielau of Williamsburg, Kansas; his sisters, Penny Weems of Vassar, Kansas, and Peggy Lear of Ottawa, Kansas; his brothers, Handford Atchison of Ottawa, Kansas, and Clyde (Dinah) Atchison of Ottawa, Kansas; his daughter, Porsche Harris; and his aunt, Linda Fish; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Shirley Atchison; his paternal grandparents, Murrel and Betty Atchison; and his maternal grandparents, Merle and Adah Fish.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 5901 in Ottawa, Kansas.
