Ethel "Ruth" Romine

Ethel “Ruth” Romine, 90, of Osage City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 25, 1934, at home on the family farm in Osage County, Kansas, Ruth was the daughter of Fred and Ethel Roakey Fillmore. From a young age, she embodied kindness, resilience, and a steadfast devotion to her family and faith.

She shared nearly 72 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Don Romine — a remarkable testament to enduring love and God’s faithfulness. Their life together was built on mutual love, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment — the kind of love that inspires all who witnessed it. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Ruth’s faith was the foundation of her life.

Cherished by all who knew her, Ruth was known for her warmth, wisdom, and generous heart. Her impact on the lives around her was profound, and her legacy of love will continue through the family she so dearly treasured.

She is survived by her husband Don; children Dan (Gwen), Gregg (Sharon), Mike (Ronda), Tim (Roxanne), Scott (Loren), and Brent; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother Clyde and sister Anna Bell. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ethel Fillmore; her siblings Paul (Bud), Robert, Dean, John, Edd, Fred, Keith, and Irma Born.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.

Ruth’s life was a reflection of her faith and gentle spirit. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and a family who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
