Ella Lee Crumb

Ella Lee Crumb, 95, passed away, Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.

Ella Lee Bruce was born June 20, 1931, in Harveyville, Kansas, the daughter of John Calvin and Gladys Lucille (Peterson) Bruce. She graduated from Harveyville High School in 1949.

She was joined in marriage to Clifford Dean Crumb on December 30, 1951, in Harveyville. She was a farm wife and a homemaker for her children, Deanna and Bruce.

Ella Lee was loyal member of the Harveyville United Methodist Church. She had worked as a school cook for many years, served on the Harveyville School Board, also served on the election board for her district for many years. Ella Lee was also known as the “egg lady” for delivering farm fresh eggs throughout the community.

She will be forever remembered by her daughter, Deanna Kemp of Eskridge; a son, Bruce (Sheryl) Crumb of Burlingame; four grandchildren, Laurie Crumb of Topeka, Jennifer (Crumb) Horton (Rick) of Silver Lake, Tyler (Kerri) Kemp of Buda, Texas and Drew (Kristi) Kemp of Eskridge and five great-grandchildren, Hailey Horton of Silver Lake, Kannon Horton of Silver Lake, Ellie Crumb of Topeka, Tristin Kemp of Eskridge and Bronx Kemp of Eskridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dean, and a son in law, Randy Kemp.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Harveyville United Methodist Church in Harveyville. Family will receive friends an hour before service at the church. A private inurnment to follow service at Harveyville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harveyville United Methodist Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N.
