Edith "Lorena" Croucher, 93, of the Peterton area north of Osage City, passed away at her home, Friday, October 24, 2014. Edith was born February 18, 1921 northeast of Burlingame, Kansas the daughter of Gillio and Edith Vandevord Succi. As a young girl she attended school at Pleasant Valley School #37. She was joined in marriage to Dannie M. Croucher on August 7, 1940 in Lyndon. To this union were born two daughters, Charlotte (Carl) Manning of Lyndon, Kansas and Elvoria (Franklin) Heck of Osage City and a son, Hayden (Linda) Croucher of Osage City. Other survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Tyree of Dayton, Ohio and a brother, Glen Succi of Burlingame, Kansas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lorena was preceded in death by her husband Dannie on October 27, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Succi. Mrs. Croucher was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Unit 198 and had been a member of the Women's Relief Corp and a local Extension Homemakers Unit. She greatly enjoyed visiting with family and friends, tending her garden, making quilts and of course her dog Sugar
