Duane Lawrence White

Duane Lawrence White, 71, of Waverly, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

He was born July 21, 1954, in Emporia, Kansas the son of Willis Warren and Mary Joan Rudolph White. He attended Melvern High School and graduated with the Class of 1973.

Duane attended Colby Community College before taking a job on a Ranch near \/\Reading. After a couple years, Duane worked briefly for the Santa Fe Railroad. He would later take a job with KDOT. In 2016, Duane retired as a Maintenance Supervisor after 36 years of service. Duane continued to farm near Melvern and Waverly after his retirement.

Duane will live on in the hearts and treasured memories of his sisters, Katherine Marie Rogers and husband Brad of Topeka, Irene Perry and husband Ron of Forsyth, Missouri and Diane Marcus and Kevin Hendon of Scottsdale, Arizona; brothers, Cletus White and wife Tammy of Waverly and Jeff White and wife Gayle of Paola, Kansas; nineteen nieces and nephews; numerus extended family and a community of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank White.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will follow services at Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Duane L.
