Dora Ann Flowers

Dora Ann Criqui Flowers,  born on September 15, 1932, in Melvern, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence F. and Maggie M. Greenfiled Criqui passed away on May 7, 2026, at the Life Care Center in Burlington, Kansas. She was a dedicated professional whose varied career reflected her resilience and commitment to service.

Dora Ann devoted fifteen years working as an aide in nursing homes and hospitals, where her compassionate care touched many lives. Following this, she successfully operated as a self-employed interior painter for seven years, serving the Ottawa, Kansas community with both skill and an eye for detail. Prior to these endeavors, she spent seven years as an antique dealer, demonstrating her appreciation for history and craftsmanship.

Born to her parents, who have predeceased her, Dora Ann carried forward the legacy of the Criqui family. She endured the loss of her beloved husbands, Ralph Abbott, who passed away on January 17, 1984, and Jimmy Flowers, who died on March 20, 2023. She also mourned the passing of her brothers Fred B. Criqui, Clarence Dean Criqui, and Perry A. Criqui. Remaining siblings include Darlene K. Hall of Oklahoma and Glenn Dale Criqui.

Dora Ann's family extends through her step-children: Jeffrey A. Flowers of Eudora and Jackie Flowers of Lawrence, Kansas. Her enduring legacy further includes six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who carry forward the warmth and spirit she embodied throughout her life.

Funeral services to honor Dora Ann Flowers will be held on May 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo, Kansas, located at 107 W. 6th Street. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate a life marked by dedication, care, and a strong work ethic.
