Donna Mae Wamser, 77, passed away early Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home in Neosho Rapids, Kansas. She passed in the presence of those dear to her.
She was born December 28, 1948, in LeRoy, Kansas, the daughter of Ray and Vice Crawford. Donna attended Neosho Rapids High School and graduated with the Class of 1966.
Donna was joined in marriage to Virgil Edgene Wamser on May 5, 1967, in Neosho Rapids. They shared the blessings and trials of life together for over 52 years. Virgil would precede her in death on December 4, 2014.
Donna retired from Newman Regional Health after 22 years of service. Her last position was serving as the Materials Manager. Her proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother. Coming from a large family herself, she understood the importance of being present for her three children and 8 grandchildren.
Donna’s legacy lives on through her daughter’s, Becky Broadhurst and husband Jon of Argyle, Texas., Carla Garrison and husband Shawn of Glenpool, Oklahoma; a son, Edgene Wamser and wife Heidi of Hays, Kansas; grandchildren, Easten Wamser and wife Erin, McKinley Wamser, Reaghan Wamser, Jayden Broadhurst, Jillian Broadhurst, Kash Garrison, Kinsley Garrison and Kory Garrison; sisters, Vivian Partlow and husband Kenny of Neosho Rapids, Connie Darbyshire and husband Dennis of Hartford, Kathy Gardner and husband Gill of Hartford; a brother, Roy Crawford and wife Linda of Burlington, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Louis Crawford of Neosho Rapids and Ruth Crawford of Emporia, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, family and a community of friends. Donna was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Bill and Gary Crawford; granddaughter, Mae Broadhurst; niece, Kelly Darbyshire and nephew, Charles Reynolds.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Hartford Cemetery Patio Building. Inurnment will follow as she is placed next to her husband Virgil. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box #43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
