David Joseph Gehring

David Joseph Gehring, 73, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 at his home in Madison, Kansas with his wife Patricia by his side.

He was born July 12, 1952 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Joseph and AnneMarie Beasterfield Gehring. David attended Osage City High school and graduated with the Class of 1970.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Damron on August 14, 1992 in Madison.

David was a Grader Operator for the Lyon County Road & Bridge Department for many years.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia of their home in Madison; his mother, Anne Marie Beasterfield ; daughters, Stacy Walstrom, Katie Custer, Adrianne Gehring and Darcie Merwin; a son David J. Gehring, Jr.; sisters, Annie Moore and Jo Ann Payton; brothers, Matthew Gehring, Joey Gehring and Tim Gehring; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous extended family and a community of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Gehring; his sister, Judy Tuff; his brother, Steve Gehring; and his infant daughter, Chaseity Gehring.

Cremation is planned with no services scheduled at this time.
