Christopher Wade 'The Wadester' Crump of Emporia, Kansas, passed away at home on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on July 23, 1971, to his mother, Beryl Sue 'Gigi' Selman in Austin, Texas.
After graduating from Osawatomie High School, he served as Combat Medic in the Army for a short time and then began a long career as a skilled machinist, all while performing as a beloved local musician. Wade's musical skill was extraordinary and will be dearly missed by all.
Wade is survived by his two sons: James Christopher Crump, of Dyersburg Tennessee; and Kade Waylon Crump, of Junction City, Kansas, along with Madison and Rylee Bailey of Kansas, his stepdaughters who remember him fondly.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Paola Roots Festival, an event Wade looked forward to each year as a member of the Blue Moon All Stars tribute band. Contributions will help fund scholarships for music students, so that Wade’s love of music continues to inspire the next generation.
