Charles Thomas “Tom” Dorr, 92, passed away, Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
Charles Thomas Dorr was born November 21, 1932, in Peterton, Kansas, the son of Walter Charles and Mary Alice (Croucher) Dorr. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army.
Tom was joined in marriage to Katherine “Pat” Corene Dorr on October 8, 1955, in Osage City. To this union four children were born, Debbie, Janelle, Mike and Mark.
He worked many years at the Dayhoff Elevator.
He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 198.
Tom will be forever remembered by his two daughters, Debbie (Debi Debi) Dorr of Traverse City, Michigan and Janelle (Rick) Ohmstede of Sugarland, Texas; two sons, Mike Dorr of Burlingame and Mark (Nancy) Dorr of Auburn; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat; a sister, Doris Scoville; six brothers, Dale Lawrence, Wayne, Jack, Max and Jim; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Dorr; a step great-grandson, Javier.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Burial to follow mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid’s Hall in Osage City and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
