Candy Kay Smith, 60, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at her home in Lebo.

She was bon April 25, 1965 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ray Dean and Beverly K. Price Rowell. As a child she lived in Buckner, Missouri prior to her family moving to Pea Ridge, Arkansas during her teenage years. In January of 1982 her family settled in Wichita.

Candy married the love of her life, Jon A. Smith on February 14, 1997 in Wichita. They made their home in Kensley, Kansas in 2014 and moved to Lebo, Kansas in 2016.

Candy learned to crochet and make macramé’ as a young woman. Her love of animals was most evident in her fondness for cats. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals less fortunate than most and always made room at her home to accommodate them.

She will live on in the hearts and memories of her husband, Jon of their home; a daughter, Jessica Rand; a son, Jason Kronk and his wife Lura of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister Donna Traughber and husband Jerry of Kemp Texas; brothers, Billy Kronk and wife Betty of Garden City, Missouri and Lloyd Kronk and wife Debbie of Wichita; six grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at the Lebo Community Building. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or Hand In Hand Hospice.
