with the birth of Robert and Rebecca. Bertha enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and often sewed or had something special made for them. She clipped pictures out of the newspaper of their various activities and created a memory book throughout their high school years.
Her grandchildren frequently stopped at her house after school where she would always have their favorite items to eat. She utilized a sewing talent in which she hand-made Barbie doll clothes for Rebecca which would fill a large suitcase.
Her son Bruce made a home in Topeka, Kansas where he was a skilled mechanic prior to his retirement. She and Doyle enjoyed taking day trips to Topeka for a visit with Bruce and going to eat at special places while there. Bertha would look forward to his weekly visits while residing at Aldersgate Independent living and then in Aldersgate Assisted Living in Topeka up to the time of her death.
Rebecca married Brian Cunningham with Bertha becoming a Great Nana after the birth of their daughter, Emma. Robert married Bethany with the addition of two great granddaughters, McKenna and Parker, to her list of treasures. She loved seeing pictures of their activities and would proudly share them with her friends.
