Wilma A. Carlson, 84, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Wilma Agnes Hasty was born November 21, 1929 in Red Cloud, Nebraska., the daughter of William Franklin and Stella L. (Lane) Hasty. She married Robert Lee Carlson, Sr. on December 14, 1948 in Lyndon, Kansas. Wilma was a homemaker the majority of her life. She had worked for Hallmark for 10 years. She loved cooking, baking, singing, doing crafts, her flowers and was an avid KU basketball fan. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Survivors include two daughters, Stella Dorr and Bernadine (Phil) Faulkner, both of Osage City; four sons, Alan (Patty) Carlson and Robert "Butch" (Julie) Carlson, Jr, both of Osage City, Larry Carlson and Danny (Betty) Carlson, both of Topeka, ; a sister, Dorothy McLeod of Leavenworth, KS; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; twenty-two step great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by, husband, a grandson, Conrad Carlson and three great-grandchildren, Emma and Grace Dorr; two step great grandchildren, Angel Brown and Hunter Koenig; three sisters and two brothers. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Burial will follow at Osage City Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilma A. Carlson Memorial Fund and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
