William "Wild Bill" Garrett, Jr.

William "Bill" Garrett, Jr., 96, passed away, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Holiday Resort in Emporia. William James Garrett, Jr. was born June 13, 1919 in Leflore County, Oklahoma, the son of William James and Lula Pearl (Williams) Garrett, Sr.. Bill was joined in marriage to Margaret Sunell Morgan on February 12, 1939 in Short Mountain, Oklahoma. He, "Wild Bill",��was a engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad (for 37 years) and a rancher. Bill was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church in Americus, the Mason's and��the Shriner's. Bill will be remembered by his two daughters, Jimmie Joyce Biggs and spouse Paul��of Belton, Missouri and Margaret��Alice Ryan and spouse Patrick of Leawood, Kansas; Son-in-law Harold Wonser of Emporia,Kansas;��a sister, Dorothy Carpenter of North Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Darren Biggs, Lisa Pratt, Denise Seah, Bobbie Carroll, Jim Curry, and Jennifer Hedgecorth, numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by His wife Margaret Sunell, ��two daughters, Barbara Jo Carroll and Winona Wonser, a grandchild��Truman Carroll, ��a brother, Freeman Garrett and three sisters, Sue, Jaunita, and Marie. Graveside service will be held �ۻat 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Rosean Cemetery, northeast of Emporia.
