Veronica L. Johnson, 61, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Kansas.

Veronica Lee Miller was born May 6, 1960 in Neubruecke, Germany, the daughter of Quincy Melvon and Margaret Sue (Hamner) Miller. She graduated from Mission Valley High School. She received a degree in horticulture from Kaw Area Vocational Technical School in Topeka.

She was joined in marriage to Miles Hayden Johnson on May 19, 1979 in Topeka, Kansas. To this union, three sons were born, Lyle, Spencer and Kingham.

Veronica was a school cook at USD 420 in Osage City for the past 11 years.

Veronica will be forever remembered by her husband, Miles Johnson of the home; her parents, Quincy and Margaret Miller of Osage City; three sons, Lyle E. Johnson of Meriden, Kansas, Spencer M. (Amanda) Johnson of Osage City and Kingham (Kayci) Johnson of Manhattan; three sisters, Jolene (Wayne) Clark of Kansas City, Missouri, Vietta (Rick) Eubanks of Emporia and Alois (Justin) Whalen of Osage City; a brother, Robert (Rita) Miller of Topeka and grandchildren Kiara, Gavin, Jace, Lydia, Sidney, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by a baby sister.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Maude Carpenter’s Children’s Home in Wichita, Paragould Children’s Homes in Paragould, Arkansas or In Search of the Lord’s Way in Edmond, Oklahoma and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N.
