Sherry Marie Stokes

We are all saddened to announce the passing of Sherry Marie Stokes, aged 63. Sherry was born November 3rd, 1959 to Earl Lester Stokes and Sharon Roberta Lyon in Fort Benning Georgia.

Sherry graduated from Waverly High School in 1978 where she went on to serve our country in the United States Army in the Intelligence Division.

Sherry would go on to work at Wolf Creek and in the equine industry training horses at Timberlake Ranch, as well as working in home health care.

Sherry is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Ellen Lyon as well as her parents Earl Stokes and Sharon Lyon.

She is survived by her siblings, Lorrie Stokes, Sherry Stanley, and Robert Woods as well her children and grandchildren. Jennifer Stokes (Brittany Stokes, Rhiannon Stokes, Draven Stokes, Olivia Stokes)

Jessie Riggs, (Aiyanna Dwight) DiShannon Cassity,(Cora Cassity, Oliver Cassity) Katy Decker (Menova Sipe, Tylora Decker), Amy Thornbrugh, (Gracie Smith) Jamie Thornbrugh, (Nova Meade, Kilynn Meade, William Meade), and Dylan Thornbrugh (Jaxson Thornbrugh)

And of corse her beloved dog Peanut.

Sherry will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and zest for life. She was a lover of all things beautiful and magical and would see these things in her everyday life. She was a collector of oddities, dragons, and wizards, she loved horses, reading, and rock and roll. She was a Chiefs fan through and through but what she will be remembered for most was her love and pride in her children and grandchildren.

Sherry’s wishes were to be cremated and returned to the earth. A Veterans service will be planned for
