Shawn Dewayne Telfer

Shawn D. Telfer, 45, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Newton, Kansas. He was born January 4, 1969 in El Dorado, Kansas the son of Mark and Paula Wilkerson Telfer. Shawn attended Circle High School in Towanda, Kansas. Shawn was joined in marriage to Stacy Crouch on August 31 1991 in Emporia, Kansas. He worked at IBP in Emporia for over 15 years. Shawn and his family lived in Lebo from 1996 until 2013 when they moved to Newton. Shawn is survived by his wife Stacy; two sons, Garrett Telfer and wife Megan of Emporia and Austin Telfer of Emporia; his father, Mark Telfer of El Dorado; step father, Ron Davidson of Emporia; niece, Alicia Denise Starkey and nephew Christopher Starkey. He was preceded in death by his mother Paula Davidson and his sister Linda Telfer. Services will be held at 11:00 AM., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Private burial will follow services at Admire Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM., until 7:30 PM., Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawn Telfer Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
