Michael E. "Biscuit" Haskett

��NEOSHO RAPIDS- Michael Eugene "Biscuit" Haskett, 52, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home in Neosho Rapids. ��He was born January 22, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Gene and Phyllis Leininger Haskett. Mike was a member of the Udall High School Class of 1981. He attended Cowley County Community College and graduated in 1991. Mike went on to Oklahoma State University and earned a degree in Agricultural Education in 1995. ��Mike taught Vocational Agriculture for two and a half years at Natoma High School until becoming a truck driver. He had driven for Golden Plains and Orender Truck Line. Mike spent the last five years driving for Farmers Oil until his health forced him to stop driving on August 14, 2014. ��"Biscuit" was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a proud member of the NRA. ��Mike was joined in marriage to Cathy Dains on January 24, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home together in Neosho Rapids later that same year. He will remain dear in the hearts of his wife, Cathy of their home in Neosho Rapids; four step sons, Ryan (Stacie) ��Heckathorn , Dustin (Megan) Heckathorn, Adam Heckathorn and Taylor Heckathorn (Aspen) all of Neosho Rapids; his parents, Gene and Phyllis Haskett of Udall, Kansas; four grandsons, Landon Ledford, Colt, Case and Crue Heckathorn; a brother, Jeff (Lori) Haskett of Topeka, Kansas; two nieces, Jane and Lori and his mother and father-in-law, Gary and Ruth Holcomb of Neosho Rapids. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 14, 2015 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hartford. Burial will follow services at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Neosho Rapids. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. The family will receive friends from 7:30 until 8:30 Thursday evening following the rosary. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association and sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home.
