Melissa Dawn Mays

Melissa Dawn Mays, 37, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home in Madison.
She was born March 7, 1979 in Emporia, Kansas. Melissa attended grade school in Emporia, Sabetha and Wellsville. She went on to attend Olpe and Emporia High Schools.
As a young lady Melissa worked as a customer service representative at Birch Telecom in Emporia and was later a homemaker. She married David Fuzzell and they were later divorced. Melissa
married Jon Mays on October 7, 2011.
She will remain in the hearts of her children, Nolan and Emma Fuzzell of Gardner, Kansas, Drew Haag of Olpe and Theron Mays of El Dorado; husband, Jon Mays of El Dorado; her mother and step father, Deborah and Tony Haag of Olpe; sister Heather Luby of Emporia; brother, Andrew Haag of Emporia; maternal grandparents, Roy and Elwilda Hoobler of Madison and uncle, Bernard Hoobler of Madison.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service being held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Inurnment will follow services at Blakely Cemetery. Memorial contributions are being made to the Children’s Education Fund and may be sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
