Melissa Ann Siler

Melissa Ann Raymie Siler, 52, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. She was born February 19, 1966 in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of Bobby and Gloria Olesen Raymie.  Melissa attended Ottumwa High School and graduated with the Class of 1984. Following high school, Melissa traveled throughout the United States, living in Kansas, Colorado, Texas and Illinois.  Melissa met the love of her life, David Siler in January 2005. David and Melissa would forever be joined in marriage on June 25, 2005 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They would make their home together in Reading, Kansas where she worked at the Miracle Café. Melissa had previously served on the board of directors for the Flint Hills United States Bowling Congress. Her strong sense of community was evident in her memberships in the Reading Lions Club, Reading Community Development and the Reading United Methodist Church where she served in the United Methodist Women.  Melissa will live on in the hearts of her husband, David of their home in Reading; her children, Eric Kiddoo of West Branch, Iowa, Dustin Raymie of Topeka, Kristen Siler of St. Joseph, Missouri, Cody Vancenbrock of Corydon, Iowa, Allison Railsback of Mankato, Kansas and Spencer Vancenbrock of Eddyville, Iowa; her mother, Gloria Olesen of Fernandina Beach, Florida; a sister Brenda Dwight of Fernandina Beach, Florida; a brother, Bobby Raymie Jr., of Ottumwa, Iowa; ten grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; numerous extended family and a host of dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her father Bobby Raymie. Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Reading United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Reading Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo.
