MAX L. HALLGREN

Osage City- Max L. Hallgren, 81, of Osage City, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his home.

Max was born December 11, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Lloyd L. and Ruth Alta (Bell) Hallgren. He served in United States Army.

He had worked as a rural mail carrier until his retirement. He loved woodworking, especially making wood toys.

Max will be forever remembered by his wife, Shary of the home; a daughter Kim Hallgren of Osage City; a son, Ken "Boo" (Denise) Hallgren of Osage City; a sister, Jean Farlee of Republic, KS; two brothers, Veryle "Bud" (Darlene) Hallgren of Topeka and Warren (Evelyn) Hallgren of Lyndon; three grandchildren, Kyle (Kyla) Hallgren, Colton (Danielle) Hallgren, McKenna Hallgren and a great grandchild, Max Hallgren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Osage City. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Private inurnment to be held at a later date at the Osage City Cemetery. Family requests in lieu of flowers for memorials to be made to the Max Hallgren Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
