Margaret Ann Seifert

July 20, 1936 — September 10, 2022

Margaret A. Seifert, 86, formerly of Osage City, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Neuvant House of Lawrence.


Margaret Ann Terril was born on the family farm near Altamont, Kansas on July 20, 1936, the daughter to Lloyd J. and Letha (Gearhiser) Terril. She graduated in 1954 from Labette County High School.


She was joined in marriage to Loyal F. Seifert on August 1, 1954, on the family farm near Altamont, Kansas. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage until Loyal passing on August 30, 2019. To this union two daughters were born, Linda and Brenda.


Margaret had worked at Hallmark- Osage Products and later was retired as a bank teller at Landmark Bank in Osage City.


She had been a Girl Scout Leader. Margaret enjoyed watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s ball games and other activities, along with KSU, Chiefs and Royals. She spent many of hours sewing and quilting.


Margaret will be forever remembered by her daughters, Linda (Mike) Marshall of Lawrence and Brenda Coursen of Emporia; a sister, Sue (Bill) Yates of Nixa, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chris (Susan) Marshall and Kim (Matt) Duncan, both of Lawrence, Jacob Coursen of Emporia and Justin (Meghan) Coursen of Ottawa and seven great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stanley Terril; a sister, Joan Geary and a son-in-law, Joe Coursen.


Cremation will take place and a private family service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523. Condolences may be expressed at Vanarsdalefs.com
