Lois May Schlesener

Lois May Schlesener, 84, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at her home near Reading. She was born June 22, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Helly and Lou Ake Lyons. Lois was raised in the El Paso area and graduated from High School in 1951.  Lois was joined in marriage to Howard M. Schlesener on April 13, 1954 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. They lived three years in Japan while Howard was serving in the United States Air Force. Lois and Howard moved to Reading from Texas in 1972.  Lois will live on in the hearts of her daughters, Lois Marie Stice and her husband Tracey of Alta Vista, Kansas and Joyce Miller of Hebron, Nebraska; sons, Kenneth Schlesener and his wife Deb of Reading, Wayne Schlesener of Hebron, Nebraska and James Schlesener of Wheatland, Mo.; fifteen grandchildren and thirty eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard on October 26, 2015; a son, Robert Schlesener; a twin sister, Brenda Joyce and a brother Joe Lyons.  Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will follow services at Phillips Cemetery northwest of Reading. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
