Linda Sue Germann

Linda Sue Germann “Suzy”, 67, passed away Sunday October 29, 2017 at Holiday Resort in Emporia. She was born February 15, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Evert Heins Sr. and Barbara McCabe. Linda  grew up on a farm southwest of Emporia. She attended Emporia High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Linda was joined in marriage to Phillip Lynn Germann Sr. on December 7, 1968 in Emporia. They spent the early years of their marriage in Emporia before moving to Amarillo, Texas in 1976.  Linda worked as a seamstress for the Levi Strauss Company for several years  before she and Phillip returned to Emporia in 1986. After returning to Emporia she worked at H&R Block for five years during tax season during the mid 1990’s. Linda later worked the Golden Coral for three years and spent some time at Dolly Madison before retiring in 2000. Member of the V.F.W. Auxillary in Emporia. Linda will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Amie Lou Hart of Americus; sons, Travis Alan Germann of Emporia and Phillip Lynn Germann Jr. of Wichita; sisters, Betty Miller of Emporia, Judy Callen of Madison and Bobbie Miller of Emporia; a brother Michael Heins of Emporia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip in 2013; parents; a brother, Evert Heins Jr.; an infant brother, David Heins and a granddaughter, Casidy Rae Hart in 2010.  Cremation is planned with inurnment at Cottonwood Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the  Linda Sue Germann Memorial Fund and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
