Jimmy A. Flowers

Jimmy A. Flowers, 82, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at his home in Eudora.

He was born on February 27, 1941 in Nowata, Oklahoma the son of Herbert L. and Bonnie L. Thorpe Flowers.

On May 25, 1959, Jimmy entered the United States Air Force. Jimmy proudly served his country until receiving a honorable discharge on April 9, 1964.

He had worked at Strasser Hardware in Kansas City, Kansas as an office manager for seven years before taking a position at the Sunflower Munitions Plant. Jimmy took early retirement after 19 years of service. He later worked at Anderson Rentals for a number of years.

He was married to Janet K. Wiggins on July 2, 1963. They had two children and spent almost twenty years together before divorcing in 1982. Jimmy married Dora A. Abbott on February 14, 1987.

He will live on in the hearts and memories of his loving wife, Dora of their home; a daughter, Jackie K. Flowers of Lawrence, Kansas; a son, Jeffrey A. Flowers and his wife Pam of Eudora; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous extended family and many friends
