Jaime Mccoy

April 19, 1977 — September 13, 2022

Jaime McCoy, 45, of Osage City, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas.

Jaime was born in Garnett, KS on April 19, 1977 to John R. Wechsler and Pat R. Schoenberger. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1995, and continued on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. On June 22, 2002, Jaime married her high school sweetheart, TJ McCoy, in Michigan Valley, KS.

Jaime loved kids, which she brought to everything she did. She started her career in social work at TFI, inc. in Emporia and Lyndon. When TJ and Jaime welcomed their first child, Ashlyn, Jaime decided to stay home to focus her attention on their family. Jaime’s kids were her #1 priority. She was always putting her family first. When the kids started school, she became a Title I Para at Osage City Elementary, where she taught for 10 years until her health no longer allowed it. With a laugh that rang out through the whole school, you would have never known she was sick.

Preceding her in death is her mother, Patti R. Herin; and half-brother, Travis Wechsler.

Jaime’s love and memory lives on in the hearts of her husband, TJ McCoy, and their two children, daughter, Ashlyn Rose McCoy and son, Isaac Daniel McCoy; one brother, Kirby Wechsler and his wife Jill; step-dad, Ken Herin; and countless other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward scholarship funds for Ashlyn and Isaac McCoy sent c/o VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N 6th St, Osage City, KS 66523.
