Jack P. Graves

Jack was born February 10, 1949 to parents John W. Graves and Ida May (Davis) in Emporia KS.
After graduating High School Jack built microwave towers in Iran, then honorably served in the Army with the Combat Engineers from 1968-1970. Before being deployed he married Vickie Peet in 1968 in Emporia. In 1970 they welcomed their first child, daughter Anita. In 1973 daughter Stacie and 1976 son Jack.
In 1971 Jack began working at the Emporia Fire Department. eventually earning the position of Fire Marshall before he departed the Department in 1990 to become Fire Chief and EMS Director in Concordia KS. He left that position in 1996 to be Fire Chief and the EMS Director in Iola KS, then finally retiring in 1999.
Not one to sit idle, Jack began working again for Hays Fire Equipment and then moved on to Max Fire Equipment for a few more years before finally calling it quits and buying a motorcycle, going on to become a member of the notorious motorcycle club "ROMEO" (Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out) that kept him busy and helped him avoid his "Honey Do" list at least 3 days a week.
Jack enjoyed every minute of life, loved his family and friends with his whole heart. Always in our hearts and memories he will be missed forever.
He is survived by wife Vickie, Children: Anita and husband Greg Barker, Stacie and husband Massaoud Fattah and Jack Graves. A sister Jane Martinez and brother Alan Graves, many nieces and nephews and the pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren Johnathon Graves and Naima Fattah.
