George F. Hallowell

George F. Hallowell, 99, passed away, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

George Fredrick Hallowell was born January 25, 1923 at home in rural Osage County, the son of Fredrick Charles and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Sadderman) Hallowell. He graduated from Osage City High School.

He was a life-long resident of Osage County and farmer.

George will be forever remembered by his daughter, Sheila Wells of Burlingame; two sons, Fredrick C. Hallowell and Edward Hallowell, both of Osage City; three grandchildren, Patricia Hays, Kyle Hallowell and Danny Hallowell and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; a sister, Elaine Jackson; two brothers, Arlie and Sam Hallowell and a half sister, Helen Winans.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City with cremation to follow service. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to George F.
