Geneva M. Phillips

Geneva M. Phillips, 93, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Holiday Resort in Emporia.

She was born on November 19, 1930 in Lebo, Kansas the daughter of Harvey and Nellie Childers Arb.

Geneva was raised on a farm S.W. of Lebo. Her father died during her eighth grade year and she was needed at home to help run the farm. She did her best to keep things running but ultimately the family moved into Lebo a year or so after Harvey’s death.

She was joined in marriage to Miles D. Frank on November 23, 1947 in Waverly. They enjoyed over 25 years together until his death on January 30, 1971.

In the early 1970’s Geneva began working at Ted Redict Electric in Emporia. She later operated a janitorial service specializing in homes and apartments.

Geneva married Robert S. Phillips on September 4, 1971 in Ottawa, Kansas. They shared twenty eight years before his death on August 13, 1999.

Geneva loved all things outdoors including, hunting, fishing and gardening.

She will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughter, Karen Snow and her husband Gordon of Lane, Kansas; a son, Ken Frank and his wife Becky of Lebo; five grandchildren; numerous extended family and a community of friends. Geneva was preceded in death by a son, Robert Franks; her two husbands; her parents; a sister, Barbara Linsey and three brothers, Wilber Arb, Harvey Arb and Lester Arb.
