Gary Stevens Mcclung

Gary S. McClung, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Gary Stevens McClung was born on May 23, 1936 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Milton and Vera (Stephens) McClung. He graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin City, Kansas. He had attended the University of Kansas. Gary served our country in the United States Air Force.

He worked on the farm and was a carpenter and contractor and retired as a Physical Plant Supervisor at the University of Kansas.

He was joined in marriage to Iris C. Gillaspy, she preceded him death on December 2, 2002.

He will be forever remembered by his three daughters, Pamela Steverson, Shari Thompson and Tricia Turner, all of Topeka; two sons, Lonnie McClung of Wellsville, Kansas and Brad McClung of Topeka; a brother Richard “Dick” McClung of Eudora, Kansas; eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523. The family will receive friends an hour before service at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.
