ELSIE L. ANDERSON OSAGE CITY- Elsie L. Anderson, 98, passed away, Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City. Elsie was born January 6, 1917 in rural Osage County, the daughter of Virgil and Florence (Anderson) Smith. She was joined in marriage to Edwin Oscar Anderson on July 6, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. Edwin preceded her in death on August 6, 1993. She was an homemaker. Elsie will be remembered by her daughter, Sally (David) Carlson of Waverly, Kansas; a son, Ray Anderson of Burlingame; a sister, Alice (Jerry) Schneider of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Albert (Letha) Smith of Overbrook, Hayden (Alberta) Smith of Berryton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. �� She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Anderson in 2012, three sisters and five brothers. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, Ocotber 7, 2015 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial in Union Cemetery in Osage City. Family will be receiving friends, Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Elsie Anderson Memorial Fund and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
