Edwin Wayne Michaels

Edwin Wayne Michaels, 73, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Newman Regional Health. Ed was born December 16, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Harry and Ruby Rohwitz Michaels. Ed attended Olivet High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. He later attended Allen County Community College where he was a member of the basketball team.  He married Trena Lee on June 6, 1965. They later divorced. He married Dianna Baysinger on December 16, 1983. They were later divorced.   As a young man , Ed worked as a mover for Allied Van Lines. He would later drive trucks for various companies including Dolly Madison and Budweiser.  Ed would go on to own and operate his own trucking company, Three Thieves Trucking.  Ed loved his family, friends, Ollie dog, motorcycles and basketball!. He was preceded in death by a son, Jon David Michaels; a sister Jean Rolfs and his parents Ruby and Harry. He will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Michelle Tyree and her husband Shane of Amarillo, Texas and Heather Morrison and her husband Tommy of Amarillo, Texas; a son Dustin Michaels and his wife Shabree of Weatherford, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Pam Bruce and her husband Cary of Olathe, Kansas; a brother Joe Michaels and his wife Merri of Lyndon, Kansas; fifteen nieces and nephews; numerous extended family and countless dear friends.  A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Inurnment will take place at Alpine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation or Wounded Warriors and sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box #43, Lebo, Kansas 66856. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
