Dorothy Marion Chisham

Dorothy M. (Morehead) Chisham, 101, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Vintage Park Assisted Living in Osage City.

Dorothy Marion Morehead was born December 12, 1922 near Osage City, the daughter of James Marion and Amanda A. (Brown) Morehead. She attended school till the 8th grade at the Rapp School.

She was joined in marriage to Joel H. Chisham on July 22, 1945 near Osage City. Joel preceded her in death on December 23, 2003.

Dorothy was a homemaker but she did some painting and wallpapering in many homes in Osage City. She was very active in many organizations and churches. Dorothy was active on the Fair Board, American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Extension Homemakers and Miller United Methodist Church.

She will be forever remembered by her niece, Mavet Cooper of Osage City, Gary Briggs of Osage City and many dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Miller United Methodist Church in Miller. Private burial will be held at Rapp Cemetery. Family will receive friends an hour before service. Memorial contributions may be made to Rapp Schoolhouse Preservation Association and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N.
