Doris Ellen Clark, 83, of Madison, passed away early Sunday August 24, 2014 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born November 8, 1930 in Montpelier, Ohio the daughter of Lowell A. and Mabel M. Cox Millard. Doris attended Montgomery High School in Montgomery, Michigan and graduated with the class of 1948. She worked for two years as the secretary for the superintendent of schools at Montgomery before entering college at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois. During her time in college she met a fellow student, Vernon N. Clark. The couple were forever joined in marriage on September 3, 1953 in Montpelier, Ohio. She graduated with a degree in music with special emphasis on voice in 1955. She would go on to teach piano for over 50 years. Doris was a member of the Central Christian Church in Madison. Other memberships include, Lyon County Genealogy Association; Concert and Lecture Series of Madison and the Piano Music Teachers Association of Kansas. She was baptized by emersion on Easter Sunday 1943 at the Montpelier Christian Church. Doris will be loving remembered by her husband of almost 61 years, Vernon N. Clark of their home; three daughters, Valeda Murr of Cripple Creek, Colorado, Virginia Mary Johnson and her husband Eright of Houston, Texas and Valerie Biasini and her husband Mike of Houston, Texas; two sons, Vaughn Millard Clark and his wife Denise of Lebanon, Missouri and Victor Allan Clark and his wife Sharon of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; a sister Betty Pavka and her husband Joe of Reading, Michigan; eleven grandchildren and four step grandchildren; two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Ruth Clark on April 16, 1957 and a sister, Dorothy Millard.
